Monday evening 29th August 2022, and finally, after a fair old wait for our appointment, we're at Bluefix ready for them to make an early start manàna (see, we're getting ready to be all continental, mon brave. Bitte entschuldigung).
Bluefix specialize in lithium battery (and associated gubbins) installations in campervans and motorhomes. Initially I tried to book in to the much nearer (to home) Ecotree Lithium near Kimberley(!), Notts, but Rob had no installation slots available until after we were due to sail to the Netherlands. Helpfully, though, Rob was able to recommend a former colleague who, with a partner, has set up Bluefix which does pretty much the same work as Ecotree.

They also use Ecotree branded batteries, which suits me, and Victron management kit, which also suits me. Yes, this stuff is a bit more pricey than some other componentry, but it's pretty well universally recognised as industry-leading.

We'll be spending two nights here, relying on our powerbank until the installation is complete and tested, and then having a night on a nearby basic campsite to test it all out in real-world conditions. Hopefully there'll be a bit of sunshine to get the 400w solar panel ticking over nicely...
