Although our trip properly starts tomorrow, we travelled down to Seaford today

and spent a few pleasant hours in the sun (yes, it cleared very nicely after the photo was taken) on the sea wall, and walking around the small town's centre. We partook of tea and cakes, and followed that with very, very good local ice creams.

We're now hunkered down on our friend Jane's driveway (she's in Bexhill though, sadly, but we hope to catch up with her at the villa in Javea during the trip).
Curry has been demolished, and it's now time for a cuppa and a little tv or reading before bed and a reasonably early start for the ferry from nearby Newhaven.

It's getting very real at last.
